Historisches Bild von der Faßfabrik Georg Speidel

Company History

Rely on 100 years of experience

In the year 1912 the cooper Georg Speidel founded a factory for the production of barrels. Initially, mostly wooden barrels for beer, wine and must were produced and sold regionally. In the 1960s a GRP-production line (glass-fibre reinforced plastic) was added. Until 2004, GRP was used to produce multi use barrels for agriculture as well as containers for wine and other beverages.

In the 1980s stainless steel was added and more and more beverage containers were made of it. Already in the year 1996 Speidel began manufacturing PE-containers by means of the rotation method on what meanhwile has become a multiple number of devices.
